Beautiful jewellery box

We were asked to restore this lovley jewellery box inlayed with mother of pearl. The inside was in a poor state of repair, with the inside having been previously been covered with bright yellow sticky back plastic. After consultation with the client, we settled on re-lining the interior with quality lining paper and the bright yellow silk was replaced with a rich gold. A lot of work went into recreating the interior, including making a new paper folder for the drop down section inside the lid. Having been in the client’s family for many years, this wonderful box can now be passed down to future generations - a lovley project to work on.
