Heartwood Restoration is run by Martin Burgoyne, who along with his colleague Andrea Marshall has over twenty five years’ experience of antique furniture repair, restoration and conservation. Martin is an accredited member of the British Antique Furniture Restorers Association. BAFRA is the recognised professional body for furniture restorers in the UK and members are assessed to ensure that they reach the required standard for membership.
Prior to setting up his own business Martin worked both in the UK and in the US, most recently working for restoration companies in and around London whose clients include collectors and dealers. Martin met Andrea when they worked for a local firm of restorers, when Martin was the manager of the cabinet restoration department and Andrea was the manager of the finishing department.
Previous clients have included dealers who exhibit at antique fairs such as Olympia and The Decorative Antiques and Textile Fair. In addition, clients have included large country houses and private collectors. The workshop is situated a few minutes from Junction 13 of the M4 and is modern and secure. The dry temperature-controlled environment is ideal for valuable items of furniture. We have regular clients in London and use a specialist carriage company who is in London on a regular basis.
